A registered company in Romania acts as the importing entity for Indian products, and a company in India serves as consolidating agent for exporting products from non-export-compliant small-scale members. Export-compliant members can ship directly.

Physical retail presence in Bucharest, Romania and Berlin, Germany.

Dedicated transport

A dedicated vehicle for transporting goods to trade fairs across Europe and for making deliveries within Europe.

An active website developed for online sales throughout Europe.

Residential base in Bucharest

Residential accommodation in Bucharest with 1–2 Indian staff always present.

Working Module

How the module operates

  • The council selects Indian products from its members for export to its Romanian setup. Members may export independently to the business setup in Romania, or sell locally to the Indian arm of the council — on the condition that the goods are exclusively for export and cannot be sold or displayed locally.
  • The council commits to a minimum annual local purchase of Rs. 2 crores from its existing members for export to Europe.
  • The Romanian arm establishes franchise agreements with major retail chains across Europe and registers with prominent Export Promotion Councils in Europe.
  • Goods imported from India are advertised and displayed extensively throughout Europe, including on the active website for online sales.
  • Products are showcased at major trade fairs across Europe.
  • All export orders from European companies are redirected to the respective manufacturers, with a small percentage of the order value shared with the council to cover its costs and maintenance expenses.
  • The council assists members with visa issues and visits to Europe, and offers warehousing facilities for their products in Europe.
